7Spice Cajun Seafood Restaurant, Houston

Humble and Kingwood are two outlying townships located northeast of downtown Houston, just beyond Beltway 8 and adjacent to I-69. Considered part of the greater Houston area, Humble and Kingwood are highly developed areas with neighborhoods decades old. Kingwood is popular among families while Humble is an entertainment hub that pulls people in from all over the city.

I-69 runs through the Humble area, with Atascocita neighborhoods to the east, along with Lake Houston, a popular destination for fishing and boating. To the west, George Bush Intercontinental Airport is the city’s largest and busiest airport, so Humble is one of the first parts of Houston that many people see when arriving by air. There is also the Deerbrook Mall, multiple sports parks and Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, along with numerous entertainment venues and restaurants. For people who want quick access to inner Houston and plenty to keep them busy, Humble is one of the city’s top spots.

Kingwood is further away from inner Houston than Humble, sitting northeast of the Humble area. Lake Houston borders Kingwood to the southeast and Atascocita is just to the south across the West Lake Houston Parkway Bridge. To the west is I-69, which affords efficient access to inner Houston to the south, and The Woodlands to the north. It’s also a short drive from Bush Intercontinental Airport, so many people who travel for business live in the Kingwood area. Families also love the area, as Kingwood is surrounded by large parks – including Lake Houston Wilderness Park to the north and River Grove Park to the south – and many restaurants and family-friendly entertainment spots.

Add it up, and it’s clear why Humble and Kingwood are considered two of Houston’s most attractive areas for families and urbanites.
