7Spice Cajun Seafood (“7Spice”, “we”) runs restaurants in the Houston area. This policy explains what information our website, 7spicecajun.com, and the 7Spice app collect, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you send one of the forms on our website, we receive what you enter:
- Contact Us and party tray requests: your name, email, phone number, the store, and your message (and for a party tray, the event date), so we can answer you.
- Become a VIP: your name, email, phone number, favorite store, and, if you choose to give it, your birthday, so we can send you offers.
- Join Our Team: your name, email, phone number, the store and positions you're interested in, whether you're over 16, and anything you tell us about your experience, so we can consider your application.
Form messages are emailed to our team and kept in our staff system so we can follow up.
Ordering
Orders are placed and paid for through DoorDash, on our ordering site (order.online) or in the DoorDash app. DoorDash handles your payment, address and delivery details under DoorDash's privacy policy. We never receive your card details.
When you order through the 7Spice app, the app tells us the order number, the store, the time and the order amounts, so we can count orders placed through the app.
Information collected automatically
- Website visits: we use Google Analytics, which uses cookies to tell us which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (city level), what device and browser they use, which store buttons are clicked (order, call, directions), and which of our QR codes are scanned.
- The app: we use Amplitude to see how the app is used: which screens are opened and which buttons are tapped, with an identifier for the device. It doesn't include your name or email.
- Your location: only if you allow it, the app uses your phone's location to show the nearest 7Spice. That's worked out on your phone; your location isn't sent to us. The ordering pages are DoorDash's: to list the restaurants near you, they may estimate your area from your internet connection, or ask to use your location. That's covered by DoorDash's privacy policy, linked above.
- Maps: our store maps are provided by Google Maps. An address or zip code you search for is sent to Google to find the stores near it.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that run parts of our website and app for us, for that purpose:
- Vercel (website hosting) and Amazon Web Services (our database)
- Resend (sending emails from the website)
- Google (Analytics and Maps) and Amplitude (app usage)
- DoorDash (orders and payments, as above)
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our customers, staff or business.
Your choices
- To see, correct or delete what you've sent us, or to stop VIP messages, write to us through Contact Us.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
- You can turn the app's location access on or off at any time in your phone's settings.
Deleting your account or your data
Your account. The 7Spice app and website don't have accounts of their own. If you signed in or created an account while ordering, that account is with DoorDash, and we can't see or delete it. To delete it:
- In the 7Spice app: open Settings, then Manage DoorDash Account, then Manage or Delete Account.
- Without the app: go to DoorDash's account page, sign in, and choose Delete Account.
Deleting it removes your DoorDash profile, saved addresses, payment methods and order history, except what DoorDash has to keep by law (see DoorDash's privacy policy, linked above). If you checked out as a guest, there's no account to delete.
What 7Spice holds. Anything you sent us through a form (a message, a VIP sign-up, a party tray request, a job application): write to us through Contact Us and we'll delete it and let you know when it's done. The app's order counts and usage information aren't linked to your name, email or account.
Children
Our website and app aren't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Job applicants must be at least 16.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, and only people who need it to do their job can see it.
Changes and questions
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. Questions? Reach us through Contact Us.
